Call for Portfolios (illustrator search begins)

Portage & Main Press put out a call for an illustrator yesterday. Pretty exciting stuff. We’re going to compile all the portfolios, CVs, and go through them carefully to choose the artist who will give the story “that thing”, the art that will push the series into something really special. We’re probably looking for somebody who can truly make it something that nobody has seen before. That’s the hope. Seeing if I can attach a file….Call for Illustrator. Hope that worked.

Portage & Main Press, Winnipeg, is looking for an experienced illustrator….

… to collaborate with author David Robertson on the four-part graphic novel series “Seven Generations: A Story of Survival & Hope.”

The series will detail the impact of Aboriginal history in Canada on one family through the generations, from the early 18th century to the present day.

Scope of the project:

–         Four 32 page graphic novels, of approximately 150 to 200 illustrations each.

–         Illustrations to be a combination of black and white, and four colour

–         To be completed between September 2009 and August 2010.

We would like to view your portfolio or art samples, either online or via mail. As well, please forward a current CV or other summary outlining your experience.
